A successful II Mercat de la Trufa i els Productes Nadalencs Castell\u00f3 Ruta de Sabor has been the best platform for the Diputaci\u00f3n de Castell\u00f3n to promote truffle consumption among hundreds of citizens in the city of Castell\u00f3n. Thus, the significant public presence throughout the course of the fair, from 10 to 20:00 hours, has endorsed the consolidation of a promotional initiative of the Provincial Council as part of the Christmas campaign ‘Tria Castell\u00f3’ that has launched through its brand of local products ‘Castell\u00f3 Ruta de Sabor’. <\/p>\n

The president of the Provincial Council, Javier Moliner, has known in first person the great variety of products, stalls and proposals for activities to be carried out in this market, which is the only fair of its kind dedicated to the truffle organized by the Provincial Government.<\/p>\n

“We want to bring a product that is recognized worldwide by the best chefs and gourmets in the world to all the people of Castell\u00f3n, so that they know it, appreciate it and we become the best ambassadors of our gastronomy. The truffle cultivation is consolidating as an activity with a future economic outlet in the inland municipalities, and promoting its consumption in the capital reverts in better opportunities for the interior”.<\/p>\n

“After the success of the first edition last year, we reinforce this commitment to promote the consumption of truffles in the province among the people of Castell\u00f3n. It is the only time that the city of Castell\u00f3n has a truffle market, and we bring it to make it known among the people of Castell\u00f3n, as we continue to detect a lack of knowledge and consumption among the general population. We want it to be appreciated by specialists, and also by the people of Castell\u00f3n in general, in order to promote its consumption in the province. There are truffle fairs in towns with a truffle tradition, such as Benassal or El Toro, but in the capital of the province it is something innovative that we hope will be very well received by the public”, explained the president.<\/p>\n

The main objective of this market corresponds to that of the brand of local products of the Provincial Council, Castell\u00f3 Ruta de Sabor, to promote the products of the province and promote their consumption in the coming Christmas season, as well as to support the gastronomy of Castell\u00f3n and tourism in the producing municipalities.<\/p>\n

A quality offer to revitalize the center of Castell\u00f3n<\/b><\/p>\n

Every last detail of this market has been carefully taken care of so that the visitor breathes castellonerismo in its atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Thus, it will also be possible to taste some of the best wines of the province thanks to the participation of several wineries of the IGP Vins de Castell\u00f3.<\/p>\n

There will be 20 stands of provincial producers and truffle growers, as well as a full program of activities with a nutritional talk about Castell\u00f3 Ruta de Sabor products at 11:00 am by IS Dietistas, and a live concert by Lisbeth Freites Quartet at 18:00 pm.<\/p>\n

As part of the objective of the Provincial Council of Castell\u00f3n to make known the best qualities of the products of the province, the Provincial Government has published the ‘Black Truffle Guide’ in which tips are compiled for its optimal conservation according to its qualities. In addition, visitors will also find several recipes to practice at home everything learned at the Truffle Market Castell\u00f3 Ruta de Sabor in order to taste one of the most appreciated raw materials of international cuisine and that produces much of the interior of Castell\u00f3n. <\/p>\n

Truffle Growers’ Association of Castell\u00f3n<\/b><\/p>\n

Professionals of the sector will also be represented in this great event, with a stand of the Association of Truffle Growers of Castell\u00f3n in which they will inform attendees of their activity, the truffle sector of the province and will present the best characteristics of this prized product.<\/p>\n

Truffle Farming Advisory Service<\/b><\/p>\n

Within the line of promotion and enhancement of the truffle as a backbone of tourism in the inland area, the Provincial Council created the Truffle Farming Advisory Service, which offers in-person, telephone or e-mail assistance to farmers who have a truffle plantation.<\/p>\n
