The president of the Provincial Council of Castell\u00f3n, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed, has ratified today at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) the adhesion of Castell\u00f3n Ruta del Sabor to the gastrotourism network L’Exquisit Mediterrani, a firm commitment of the provincial institution to join forces between the three provinces and give a boost to the gastronomy of the Comunitat Valenciana under a common brand, without losing the identity of the Castell\u00f3n brand. The signing ceremony, held in the central square of the stand of the Comunitat Valenciana, was attended by the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig; the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, as well as the presidents of the councils of Castell\u00f3n, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed; Valencia, Toni Gaspar, and Alicante, Carlos Maz\u00f3n, who have signed their adhesion to L’Exquisit Mediterrani. In his speech, Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed stressed that Castell\u00f3n is a destination that “deserves to be visited for many variables, and one of them is the gastronomy and the products that make up Castell\u00f3n Ruta del Sabor, which offer an explosion of flavors, variety and quality that are key for the good chef, and the good diner, to enjoy. Today’s adhesion to the Gastrotourism Network of the Valencian Community, to l’Exquisit Mediterrani, “makes us all undoubtedly stronger when it comes to positioning our gastronomy as a quality and unique product at international level, because gastronomy is, no doubt, an essential proposal to compete in a market as intense as tourism,” said Mart\u00ed, who is convinced that Castell\u00f3n Ruta del Sabor, with more than 200 member companies, with products such as oil, truffles and artichokes, will achieve greater momentum hand in hand with l’Exquisit Mediterrani. For his part, the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, stressed that “gastronomy offers authenticity and quality to the tourist offer” and that “it is consolidating as one of the differentiating factors that help to attract tourists” as well as “to build a powerful brand image”. Therefore, he thanked “the consensual effort of all the agents and the whole territory” to join this gastrotourism network that “expands the concept of gastronomy” to “share with our visitors the Mediterranean lifestyle”.
