Its inland municipalities treasure an ancestral agricultural landscape, with olive and almond trees as the main gastronomic icons. The coastal municipalities stand out for their maritime culture and Mediterranean fish and seafood. This region’s culinary heritage is very rich and one of the most appreciated in the province. Several of the autochthonous products of these lands have recognised quality figures, such as the Benicarló artichoke, with a Protected Designation of Origin.
