A gastronomic surprise among cork oaks

Description of the experience

We are located in one of the hearts of the immense Serra d’Espadà Natural Park. What makes this rugged territory really special are its thick cork oak forests, the cork trees that decided to live here because of the particular orographic and climatological characteristics. It is the authentic Mediterranean Forest.

We will begin our route by entering the Mosquera ravine, letting ourselves be guided through an immense and wild landscape to the homonymous farmhouse, a former center of cork production that corked wines and cavas all over Spain. After a simple descent through the Almanzor ravine (who was this character? And what does he have to do with the monumental chestnut tree?) and having learned almost everything about the use of this impressive forest, we will arrive at the old Moorish village of Almedíjar, famous for its springs, its organic cheeses made in the traditional way (with thistle flower) and its red wines, which are already achieving fair fame. All this we will be able to taste before finishing the activity at lunchtime.
