Searching for black truffle with trained dog

Description of the experience

Excursion to the countryside to search for black truffles with an expert truffle farmer and his specialized dog.

We will go into a plantation of holm oaks and oaks to locate this valuable black diamond of our mountains. Castellón has become the second province in black truffle production, only surpassed by Teruel.

You will have the opportunity to observe how the trained dog detects truffles, learn what the truffle is, how and when it is produced and harvested, and discover its uses in the kitchen in a simple way. You will have the option to purchase fresh black truffles at the end of the activity.

The Vistabella truffle is considered one of the best in the world, thanks to the altitude of the municipality (with the highest truffle fields in the Valencian territory), its climate and the little intervened plantations.
